Mount Allison celebrates end of successful fund raising campaign

 

Mount Allison University celebrated the end of its Alumni Field Campaign on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 during Homecoming Weekend. Nearly $2.4 million was raised to install a new turf field as well as bleachers, flagpoles, a scoreboard, and a press box. The total included contributions of $250,000 each from the provincial and federal governments. Participating in the coin toss before the Homecoming football game are, from left, Memramcook-Tantramar MLA Bernard LeBlanc; Beauséjour MP The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard; Paul Henry and David Booth, campaign co-chairs; Sackville Councillor Bill Evans; Mount Allison President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Robert Campbell; and referee John Peters. The Mount Allison Football Mounties won the game 20-12 over the Acadia Axemen.
