Our Mount Allison women's basketball Mounties ended the 2nd half of their season with a win, 71 - 41, against the Holland Hurricanes.
Both teams gave an all-out effort when the whistle went off, ultimately arriving with the Mounties having a 20 -19 lead in the first quarter. The Mounties continued strongly throughout the 2nd quarter and picked up an 12-point lead against the Holland Hurricanes, 39-27, as they entered the half time break.
The Mounties continued working hard on the court in the 3rd quarter, extending their lead before finishing off their win in the fourth quarter.
Torrie Janes gave a strong play for the Mounties and led the way with 19 points, including one rebound and two assists. Reese Nowlan followed with 11 points, and Abby Miller and Sophie Trail with 10 points each.
Lisa Bolander led all the Holland Hurricanes with 10 points.
This is the first win away from home since November 2021.
