Haley Hemphill joins Mounties Women’s Basketball program

The Mount Allison Mounties Women's Basketball program is pleased to announce the commitment of Haley Hemphill. Haley, a Woodstock, NB native, will be joining the Mounties in the 2023-24 season. The Woodstock High School product is coming off an impressive campaign, leading her team to a AA Provincial Championship and being named an NBIAA All-Star. Haley has also been part of the Basketball New Brunswick provincial team program, including most recently suiting up for the U17 team who competed at Nationals in the summer of 2022.

 

"We are thrilled to have Haley joining our program this fall. She is an extremely talented offensive player with all of the tools to become a tenacious defender in our league as well",commented Head Coach, Tom Skabar. "We cannot wait for the opportunity to work with Haley and to see the way she develops within our program". When asked about her decision to come to Mount Allison, Haley stated "After touring the campus and spending time with the team, I knew MTA was the right decision for me. Everyone in the academic and athletics departments were very welcoming." Haley also outlined her goals heading into her first year: "My goals as a first-year student-athlete are to work hard and stay disciplined so I can perform well academically, while also pushing myself to become a better player and teammate."
