Mount Allison Defeats St. Thomas in Four-Set Battle
Mount Allison improved to 2-1 on the season with a strong 3-1 win over St. Thomas in Sackville on Sunday evening. After a dominant first set, the Mounties stumbled in the second but bounced back with consistent attacking and improved efficiency to close out the match.
Chloe Palmer led the way with 13 kills and 18 digs, while Tayla Larocque added 9 kills and 3 aces. Setter Ana McCain contributed 21 assists and 7 digs, helping Mount Allison hit .333 in the decisive fourth set. The team also tallied 12 service aces and 7 solo blocks.
The Tommies struggled to maintain momentum. Despite a solid second set, errors and Mount Allison's defensive pressure proved too much. Morgan Coy led STU with 6 kills and 9 digs.
St. Thomas (2-2) is back in action Saturday, November 8th against the Dal Rams. Mount Allison (2-1) are on the road on Sunday, November 9th at Holland College.
